Before heading to Bai Hotel Cebu, our last hoorah here at Crimson Resort & Spa, Mactan, includes lots and lots of bubbles and a whole fare of oh-so-yummy dishes from their Azure Beach Club.
Every Satuday, Crimson Resort & Spa, Mactan calls it their Concept Day in which they invite their guests as well as welcome walk-ins for their fabulous foam party that includes unlimited drinks such as juices, sodas, cocktails, beers, and whatnots from 11:30AM to 4PM. All these, alongside, a wide buffet spread from salad down to pizza, fresh seafood, and mixed grilled goodies? Oh, we are so in!
Feeling fresh and light with all the fun, we went for something that is of the same delicious vibe and that is none other than their Azure Garden (Php 560). This one is from their salad selection and is a plate of roasted beetroot, orange, quinoa, and huge servings of goat’s cheese.
After having some veggies, we felt like having some of their appetizers that are wonderful to munch on. The first we had was their Tuna Tataki (Php 180) which is of seared black pepper crusted tuna loin in spicy miso sauce, with herring fish roe as well as some greens.
From one type of fish, we swam to another and that is their Citrus Cured Salmon Carpaccio (Php 436). This one is of home cured salmon fillet with seaweed salsa and lemon wasabi sauce, giving us that distinct blend of flavors that has that right delectable punch.
The next dish we had was their Beef Carpaccio with Truffle Ponzu Sauce (Php 620) and let’s just say it wasn’t at all hard to love, especially that this is of lightly seared angus beef with tartufata paste, treating us with meaty tenderness in each and every mouthful.
And of course, the last appetizer we had with them is none other than their Chicken Karaage (Php 240). This one we undeniably kept reaching for as this is a plate of fried savory chicken wings with spicy aioli and homemade pinakurat vinegar.
We did say that was our last appetizer, but we didn’t say it was our last dish with Azure Beach Club! Their Truffled Crispy Bacon Pizza (Php 705) is such a tease as the scent of this will make your tummy go hungry as if it wasn’t eating at all. This one is a tomato based pizza with mozzarella, goat’s cheese, as well as crispy bacon, topped with truffled arugula salad.
After having these munchies, we opted to go for their heavier options, specifically a steak of theirs that is no doubt a bestseller – that is their Ribeye Steak (approximately 700g/24oz Php 3950). This one is really good for sharing as it is of prime time chop, massala butter, and three different sauces. This one also comes with a free bottle of wine!
Last, but definitely not the least, as this one we call dibs on and is our favorite – the Fresh Catch of the Day. This one actually is of different dishes served separately, but we got ours in one plate. We got a yummy white snapper, saucy grilled squid, sumptuous grilled prawns, as well as oh-so-delicious baked scallops in red sambal.
Really, all these on top of their foam party is a fab experience we will be glad to be a part of again, especially as we got to pair this with a few drinks of theirs like the Bayan Cocktail which highlights and prides itself in being Filipino as well as the Mojito Royale which actually is a delectable addition that incorporated the use of pandan in drinks, giving it a Pinoy touch, too.
Truly, this last hoorah of ours at Crimson Resort & Spa, Mactan could not have gone any better than this – thanks to their Azure Beach Club, Chef Andrew, Chef Carlos, Butch, Pat, and all their warm and fun staff and crew. We surely will be back for more!
