Bagnet is a popular dish here in the Philippines that originated from Ilocos. It is pork belly boiled until its outside is brown and crispy, and its meat is tender, juicy, and flavorful. Eating this is as sumptuous as you imagine it to be. That’s why it is often served during fiestas, parties, or even intimate gatherings between friends and families.
Bagnet is amazing as is, especially with its classic partner in Ilocos, the bagoong monamon or fermented anchovies, no doubt about it; but adding it to another dish makes that other dish a whole lot better, we promise you! Bagnet has its special way of leveling up a dish and we sure are all for it. Donāt believe us? Here are four sumptuous dishes that we added Bagnet to and sure enough, became even more luscious and scrumptious!

First up is our Binagoongang Bagnet. This one is the brainchild of our love for Binagoongan and Bagnet. The pungent aroma and taste of Bagoong all partying up with the tenderness and crispness of Bagnet had us drooling non-stop and we are quite sure you will be doing that too if you were served this dish as well. With its strong, bold flavors, this dish is great with steamed white rice, so if you love Binagoongan, we suggest playing it up with Bagnet.

Speaking of a dish great with rice, we got you another – Ginataang Kalabasa at Sitaw with Bagnet. This dish knows no bounds because it is perfect whether you are a veggie fan or a meat lover. On top of that, its sauce can even be a viand already because you can pour it over steamed white rice. There is no denying that every bit of this dish will bring satisfaction to all your senses ā from its look, to its scent, and of course, to its taste! Certainly, you will get the time of your life with this fantastic dish!

Another veggie dish that we bagnet-ified is none other than Ginisang Munggo. Our Ginisang Munggo with Bagnet definitely caught a lot of eyes when we shared it with you guys. The hominess of the Ginisang Munggo plus the lusciousness of the Bagnet truly was drool-worthy; and if you are one of the few that have not tried it, then we suggest you try it out. This is your literal sign to go for it because believe us, this scrumptious dish can be a favorite of anyone.

Last but definitely not the least is the Bagnet Bicol Express. Bicol Express is a well-loved FIlipino dish because of its spicy kick and the use of coconut milk in it. As this is another classic viand that has a delicious strong flavor, we decided to play with it more and give it our own delectable touch, hence our Bagnet Bicol Express recipe. The Bagnet surely added an extra umph to the Bicol Express and we are not going to lie, this dish had us going for more than seconds.
Keeping true to our word, Bagnet obviously can make an already popping dish even pop more so. These four dishes are just a few of what we have banet-ify so you better watch out for more. However, for now, you can follow all our recipes about each dish down below or you can also learn more about each dish by clicking the links after the recipe of each dish.
