Breaded Pork Chop Recipe

When we started playing around in the kitchen, we discovered that frying is actually not that simple. We thought all we have to do is preheat the pan and the oil, place whatever it is we are going to fry, and then after a few minutes, we will have something fried and delicious to dig into; but alas, that was just wishful thinking. Apparently, there are a lot of factors to consider when frying, such as what we are frying and the level of heat. These we have found out are important, because sometimes, from the outside, the dish could look like it is cooked, but once you slice through it or poke it, that is when you will discover that it is actually still raw. It was honestly horrific and frustrating when that happened to us, hence we used to avoid cooking fried dishes before.

After building up courage to try frying again, we tried our best to really take in all the factors so as to end up with something not only cooked from the outside and the inside, but also taste good. Once we got the hang of it, we also were able to cook one of our comfort food, Breaded Pork Chops! Breaded Pork Chops are truly a delight to eat. The crunchiness of its coating plus the flavorful, tender, and juicy meat is surely a wonderful combination!

To make pork chops, loin is usually the part of the pig used. This meat cut is leaner than others which means you get to have more meat to enjoy, hence this cut is perfect for Breaded Pork Chops. Aside from frying, Breaded Pork Chops are not really that hard to do. It could be messy because of the coating process which is done by dipping the loin in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs, but we promise you, it is all worth it!

Ingredients for Marinating the Pork Chops:
 6 calamansi
 5 garlic cloves
 ¼ tsp ground black pepper
 1 tsp salt
 2 tbsp oyster sauce
 1 kg pork chop
Ingredients for Coating the Pork Chops:
 2 cups bread crumbs
 1 cup flour
 2 eggs

Directions for Marinating the Pork Chops:

Chop garlic. Set aside.

Squeeze the juice out of the calamansi. Set aside.

In a bowl, marinate pork chops with garlic, calamansi juice, oyster sauce, salt, and ground black pepper.

Let the pork chops marinate for an hour.

After marinating, coat each pork chop by dipping them first in flour, then in eggs, and lastly in bread crumbs. Set aside.

Directions for Cooking Breaded Pork Chops:

Fry each side of the pork chops for 5 to 8 minutes.

Transfer the Breaded Pork Chops onto a serving dish or a platter.
