We do love casual eat outs, we are not even denying that. However, there are times when we do enjoy going fancy, too. With that, we recently found this really intimate and elegant dining space in Makati that sure had us amazed with their simple yet fabulous interiors as well as their wow-worthy and sumptuous dishes.
Mrs. V Restobar is really a feast to the eyes with their rustic-industrial design accentuated by touches of blacks, white, and hints of gold. No doubt, their space is such a haven for people who love aesthetics and arts as they have paintings on their walls and interesting accents that sure would catch your attention.
As that is the case, Mrs. V Restobar gave us a sense of elite and at the same time comfort with every mouthful of their dishes that we got to try, starting with their Tapas; namely their Guilt-free Plato de Quezo (Php 900). This one is a platter of five vegan cheeses – purely vegan dish, no animal products whatsoever; their Salted Egg Tapenade (Php 150) which is their local take on tapenade using salted egg and tomatoes, served with melba toast; and their Bagnet (Php 320) which is their version of Ilocos’ deep-fried pork belly served with house vinegar.

Having some bagnet sure made us crave for more meat and so we could not be more grateful for their Skewer Platter (Php 390). Served with three sticks of their local wagyu beef and grilled chicken, this dish is actually inspired from different cultures, specifically Middle Eastern and Japanese.
In the talks of taking inspiration form Japanese cuisine, Mrs. V’s Restobar’s Wagyu Salpicao (Solo 1-2 Php 650 | For Sharing 3-4 Php 950) is locally grown, grass-fed wagyu with their heirloom salpicao sauce. The recipe for this one is has been passed down to generations from the chef’s grandmomma herself.

And if you are a breakfast person but waking up is so not your jam, Mrs. V’s Restobar has All Day Breakfast offerings such as their Mrs. V Famous Tapa (Php 260) which is of their famous marinated beef served with eggs and garlic rice as well as their Fisherman’s Breakfast (Php 250) which is of marinated milk fish served with eggs and garlic rice. These ones really are straightforward yummy dishes you would keep coming back to.
Pair these delicious dishes of Mrs. V’s Restobar with their variance of drinks such as wines, international beers, and even cocktails like their Sangria, their Cuba Libre, and their Gin Tonic. If you are up for just drinking, you could enjoy the most of your time with their Happy Hour which runs from 7PM to 9PM daily, except Sundays.
