Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse came a long way from the time it started as a backyard restaurant in Marikina. It’s a product of the owner’s dream to have a restaurant. Fat Daddy’s is known for its tender and flavor-packed ribs. However during the opening of its newest branch in UP Town Center, we discovered that it’s more than that.

Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse finally invades Quezon City. Its new home in the North made all ribs lovers excited – us included!

Their newest branch has a rugged but trendy feel. We love the restaurant’s brown accents which make the whole place looks so modern. We also like the brick wall on the other side and the country-style figurines and displays.

The grand opening program started with the blessing of the place. Everyone dedicated and wished this new restaurant a success. After the ribbon cutting, we sampled few of Fat Daddy’s specialties.

Smoked Meat Platter. The platter consists of smoked hot links, beef brisket, chicken, pork ribs, and pulled pork shoulder. We also had grilled corn and coleslaw on the side. We loved the ribs, of course, as every bite was so packed with flavors. We loved how smoky and tender the meat was. The beef brisket came as a surprise as it’s also so good. The grilled corn and coleslaw gave a nice balance of the taste in this set.

We were also able to try their burgers. We had the Daddy’s Burger and it was divine. The beef patties were smoky, juicy, and grilled to perfection. It was filling, and all the more satisfying.

Finally, the dessert. Fat Daddy’s is also known for its Bacon S’mores Dip – and we now finally know why. It was addicting. The chocolate they used is very delicious. It was kind of sweet but it’s well-balanced by the bacon and marshmallow on top. It’s served with graham crackers. We can literally finish one serving, it is that good!

Bonus: We honestly think that Fat Daddy’s has good quality sauces that make their food so flavorful. The good news is these sauces are available to be purchased. We like the spicy BBQ variant! Other stuff on the display are also on sale like spice rubs and mugs.
