Inspired by the warm and bright glowing rays of the sun, NUSTAR Resort & Casino’s Sinag Cafe also symbolizes the start of each day. This 1300-square-meter restaurant with Filipino design elements can make 300 to 350 diners feel at home. Although, Sinag Cafe is such a lovely and symbolic name, they actually rebranded to Fili Cafe now.
Their dishes are classics that wrap their diners in warmth and delicious nostalgia throughout the day since they are an all-you-can-eat buffet for breakfast, lunch, and of course, dinner. With that, we were unfortunate to have had one of our breakfasts here while we were in Cebu a few months back.
Combining contemporary cafe breakfast as well as the best of local breakfast fare, Fili Cafe had us drooling even with just the sight of the breakfast spread they had prepared for us. We definitely loved the hearty Filipino choices they laid in front of us, such as grilled tocino, chorizo de Cebu, and longganisa. These options were indeed classic Pinoy breakfast options that our hearts and tummies just yearn for everyday so to find these here at Fili Cafe really brought a smile to our faces.
Aside from those, Fili Cafe also had our mouths watering because of the savory Filipino viands that were also present. Their savory dishes surely took the spotlight, especially because we are all for starting our day with a loaded and filling breakfast!
Fili Cafe also has an egg station where we got our choice of eggs from. Some of us had sunny side up while others had scrambled; but of course, they can also make your eggs into omelets, frittata, poached, and even en cocotte. Eggs are not the only thing they can turn into a variety of dishes though, because they also have plenty of options for potatoes, such as rosti, curried potato croquette, Lyonnaise potatoes, gratin dauphinois, and even hash browns, which is our favorite!
Meanwhile, if you are more of a light breakfast person, though, don’t fret because Fili Cafe has you covered too! They have a station filled with kakanin like puto bumbong, bibingka, puto maya, and Fili’s Chocolate Eh! You can also have a field day with their selection of breads and pastries, and of course, if you want something healthier and tasty, then you will surely enjoy reaching for their Greek yogurt, muesli, plus fresh fruits and juices.
Fili Cafe takes breakfast seriously so don’t think twice about having an indulgent plate when you dine with them. You can even assemble your own English breakfast plate since sausages, baked beans, bacons, and mushrooms are also up for grabs.
There is just so much to love here at Fili Cafe, and their taho as well as smoothie shooters which are passed around are just two of our well-loved yummies here!
