Garlic Butter Lobster Recipe

This pandemic has definitely robbed, and is still robbing, a lot of us, if not all, of the lives we could have been living. We could have traveled to more places, eat more food, took more opportunities, and these points of ours, we know, are coming from a place of privilege. As the pandemic continue to make us stay home, let’s think about the farmers and the fishermen that have been struggling to make ends meet for their families.

That being said, if we are to look specifically at the livelihood of our Bicolano fisher folk, we would be able to see how they have been greatly affected of the pandemic. The limitation on exportation led to a surplus of fresh seafood left unavailed; and so, Sea Source took it upon themselves to be of assistance to our Bicolano fisher folks during this tough time.

Currently, Sea Source is offering Lobsters, particularly Red Philippine Lobster and upon request, Slipper Lobsters. Dispatched from Bicol alive, some of them may or may not die in transit, but Sea Source still guarantees its freshness as they try their best to stay on schedule and update you even though their weekly arrival dates are uncertain.

With all of these taken into account, we have found ourselves having a go at Sea Source’s Lobsters and whipping up some delicious Garlic Buttered Lobster in our kitchen! Often times, we get to have Garlic Buttered Shrimps in restaurants and we have always wondered how it would work with Lobster and if we would be able to create it, so we sure did not waste our time when we learned about Sea Source and their initiative to be of help to our Bicolano fisher folks.

Our Garlic Buttered Lobster was surely a hit on our table as everyone was trying to go for seconds the moment their plates were empty. Indeed, the lobster was fresh and meaty and everyone got a generous serving of it!

And of course, we were able to balance out the ingredients we have as we have no doubt enjoyed a blend of both sweet and savory flavors every time we take a spoonful of our Garlic Buttered Lobster in our mouths. Another thing we loved about this dish was how Sea Source’s Lobster made the whole experience for us even more luscious because its meat was soft and tender, giving us an almost melt-in-your-mouth feel.

Sea Source’s Lobsters are available for both Retail and Wholesale. For Retail, the Lobsters come in Small (Php 950/kg) which weighs 120g up/pc, in Medium (Php 1150/kg) which weighs 200g up/pc, and in Large (Php 1350/kg) which weighs 400g up/pc. Meanwhile for their Wholesale option that are orders of 10kg and above, the Lobsters are also available in Small (Php 900/kg) which weighs 120g up/pc, in Medium (Php 1100/kg) which weighs 200g up/pc, and in Large (Php 1300/kg) which weighs 400g up/pc.

  1. Hello! Thank you for sharing the garlic butter recipe which I am about to try! You added tomato sauce, is it just to add color mimicking “alige”? Also can I substitute it with oyster sauce instead?

    1. Hello Edith, thank you for following our recipe blog. To answer your question, yes, we added tomato sauce to add color and for the taste as well. It’s up to you if you want to substitute oyster sauce but we cannot guarantee the same color and taste.
