Here’s what to expect from this year’s Oktoberfest!

BER months are here, and other than the holidays, what is the best excuse to have an unlimited glass of beer?

Yes! it’s the annual celebration of the much-awaited German Oktoberfest! and the grandest party of them all will be held this coming 6th and 7th of October 2017 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. For those who will be attending for the first time, as well as the avid attendees over the past few years – here are some things we can all look forward to during this year’s Oktoberfest.

1. It will be held at the Harbor Garden Tent to pay homage for the traditional Bavarian customs.

In hopes of creating the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration, the event will be held inside the Harbor Garden Tent at Sofitel Philippines, imitating the enormous covered tent in Bavaria. The traditional setting for the Bavarian Oktoberfest is usually held in a huge hall with parallel cloth lined up to the ceiling, hovering the entire feast. To make it more fun, perhaps you should also pair the night with your own set of dirndl and lederhosen (tracht for the complete clothing for men).

2. There will be lots and lots of food.

Since they are expecting to curate a total of 2,000 guests per day, it is no surprise that they will be preparing a feast of delectable dishes courtesy of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s master chefs. They will also be featuring Bavarian specialties like pork knuckles, roasted calf, laugen rolls, grilled German sausages and mouthwatering assorted pastries (sounds tasty right?!). You can look at the photos below for a sneak peek of some of the dishes you can try out during the event.

And if you are not one to go after German beers- no worries! because our very own (and beloved) San Miguel beer will be flowing all night for every single guest! So get ready to sober up before you attend this grand feast! No event is ever dull with a great set of beer.SONY DSC

4. Authentic German Entertainment

The Bavarian Sound Express flying in from Germany to regale participants with traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest music and international hits. Yes, that’s correct it doesn’t get more authentic than this! and if you’re lucky they might even teach you a thing or two about how they dance.
