Now with the recent addition of Courtyard by Marriott, the first international hotel in Western Visayas, Iloilo City has never shine any brighter.

And as it officially opened last May 9th with attendees from the Executives of Marriott International, Megaworld upper management and together with the City Mayor, all cutting the ribbon, the Grand Opening was a day to remember.
The prestigious line-up of ribbon cutters include Mayor Jose Espinosa Jr. III – Iloilo City Mayor, Cleofe Albiso – Courtyard by Marriott General Manager, Kevin Tan – First VP for Commercial Division of Megaworld Corp., Mr. Victor Clavell – Area Vice President – Luxury APEC and Bulgari APAC & Philippines, Kingson Sian – President/CEO, Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., and Bruce Winton – Cluster General Manager.
Hosting the event and enjoying the festivities was the celebrity and actress Ruffa Gutierrez, who wore a red Filipiniana outfit that highlighted her elegant beauty.
The Ribbon cutting ceremony was ended with a Lion Dance, fireworks and a confetti blizzard of green and silver filling up the hotel lobby entrance.
Right after the ribbon cutting ceremony was the most exciting part for us, and that was eating of course. We were treated to a 5-course meal which we will go into detail on our next write-up for the Courtyard. (Stay tuned)
After a grand 5 course meal experience was the Cocktail Party by the Pool. The event was such a hit and well attended by socialites coming from all over representing different industries and interests.
The night definitely called for a toast led by the hotel’s General Manager Ms. Cleofe Albiso together with her mancom team, namely: Chachpol Suaisom – Executive Chef, Marlon Galo – Asst. Dir. of Finance, Maia Israel – Director of Operations, Joy Alonte – Dir. of Sales, and Carmen Siongco – Human Resources Manager. Right after the final toast has been raised, an avp was played to show all guests the successful turnout of the day’s full event.
The lavish pool party was ended with none other than a spectacular display of fireworks which also marks the ending of the Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo’s momentous Grand Opening.
