We really do love some action while we are eating! We do enjoy just sitting down and indulging in our food but we also delight in an interactive dining experience, regardless if the food has a dramatic effect on it or the chefs themselves are cooking in front of us.

Speaking of things we love when it comes to eating out, you guys know how much our heart actually beats for Japanese cuisine, right? Undeniably, Japanese food is one of our top comfort food choices as it brings us comfort and hominess in every mouthful. Other than that, Japanese food surely are heavy on the belly and packed with flavor.

With that, we got so excited when we found out Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort has Hikari Teppanyaki, an open kitchen setup. Hikari Teppanyaki had us transported to Tokyo as their skilled chefs prepared meals in action in front of our eyes and brought teppan right at our fingertips. Indeed, Hikari Teppanyaki have highlighted authentic taste by delightfully and carefully cooking in the traditional Japanese way.

We started with some freshly made California Maki and Unagi Maki. These two plates of Makis were absolutely flavorful and heavy. Obviously, we were on the right path. Plus, it was such a joy watching these two be made.

Next to that were two delicious sides — Vegetable Teppan and Chahan. These two were wonderful side dishes as these were no doubt filling and tasty too. At this point, we were already babying round bellies and yet we did not have any plans of stopping still.

That said, we then moved onto digging into lusciously cooked meats. The Chicken Teppan as well as the Saikoro Beef were hands down sumptuous and scrumptious in every aspect. Flavor-wise, they were both oozing with it while texture-wise, they were both tender and easy to chew as well.

Hikari Teppanyaki really wowed us with everything — from the preparation of the food, to the serving of the food, and of course, to us eating the food. It was certainly a memorable experience that we will positively be thinking about until we have it again.
