Macaroni Salad Recipe

Hence, the Filipino-style Macaroni Salad is again, more on the sweet side which is highlighted by it bursting with tropical fruits. Philippines is a tropical country, after all, so using fruits as this dish’s natural sweetener makes perfect sense!

Not that we are hard-selling this dish, but you will probably even be lining up for seconds and thirds which is not a problem since Macaroni Salad is a dish that can easily be doubled and tripled – perfect for a huge crowd like any Filipino family or friend group!

Ingredients:
 1 kg macaroni
 500 g chicken
 250 g ham
 340 g spam
 ¼ cup raisins
 2 tbsp pickles
 227 g pineapple
 390 g condensed milk
 ¼ tsp white pepper
 3 eggs
 3 ½ cups mayonnaise
 ¼ tsp salt
 165 g cheese
 25 g carrots
 1 white onion

Directions:

Place chicken in a pot filled with water, add salt, then boil for 20 to 25 minutes.

After boiling, set aside the chicken.

Fill another pot with water and salt, then bring it to a boil.

Once it is boiling, cook elbow macaroni in it for 8 to 10 minutes; then set aside.

Slice onions, carrots, cheese, spam, ham, and eggs. Set them aside.

For the chicken, slice or shred it into small pieces.

Cook carrots in boiling water for 30 to 45 seconds, drain them after, and then set aside.

Fry ham for 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside after.

Fry spam for 4 to 5 minutes. Set aside after.

Put cooked elbow macaroni in a big pot or bowl.

Add onions, raisins, pickle relish, cheese, carrots, pineapples, chicken, ham, spam, boiled eggs, garlic powder, salt, mayonnaise, and condensed milk.

Stir altogether. Make sure that the ingredients are evenly distributed.
