Of course, we are right! That said, we want to assure you that we are hearing what you are saying. You want more desserts that will save you this summer and that’s why we are here—to give you exactly that!

Other than summer is the perfect time to go out to the beach and enjoy the sun, it is also the time to go cray-cray for mangoes. That’s right, it’s mango season, y’all, and so here we have a treat that is not only cooling but also mango-rrific!

Mango Sago’t Gulaman

Sago’t Gulaman is a classic sweet beverage here in the Philippines. This local Filipino beverage is made of brown sugar, water, gelatin, and tapioca pearls. Its name—Sago’t Gulaman—refers to its two main ingredients: Tapioca Pearls and Gelatin. These two sure add a fun play on this drink as people get to experience a munch-worthy jelly-like texture that complements the overall smooth and refreshing drink.

That said, we wanted to bring that fun and delectableness up a notch and give you guys more than the classic Sago’t Gulaman, hence our Mango Sago’t Gulaman. This goodie is actually trending nowadays and we wanted to try it out ourselves—not just by eating it, but making it as well.

Mango Sago’t Gulaman

Mango Sago’t Gulaman, also known as Mango Sago Jelly, is a tropical dessert salad that a lot of Filipinos have fallen in love with! We mean, it has all the drool-worthy quality we are craving for: sweet, refreshing and cooling, and even fruity! With layers of fresh mango, thick sweet cream, jelly, and tapioca pearls, it is not really surprising that Mango Sago’t Gulaman has everyone swooning.

Ingredients:
Ingredients for making the gulaman/gelatin:
 25 g mango flavored gulaman powder
 5 cups water
  cup mango condensed milk
Ingredients for making the sago:
 ½ cup small sago
 5 cups water
Other Ingredients to make the whole Mango Sago't Gulaman:
 370 ml evaporated milk
 ¾ can of condensed creamer
 250 ml all-purpose cream
 3 mangoes

Directions:

In a pot filled with water, add mango flavored gulaman powder. Stir continuously. Remove from heat once it boils and completely dissolves.

Pour gulaman mixture into a baking dish. Set aside for a while.

In a pot filled with water, cook sago pearls until translucent. Remove from heat and strain the water out once cooked. Set aside.

Slice the mangoes into cubes. Set aside.

Once the gulaman is set, slice it into cubes as well.

In a big bowl, add the gulaman cubes, mango cubes, all-purpose cream, evaporated milk, and mango flavored condensed milk. Mix well.

Add cooked sago pearls into the mix. Mix again.

Cover the bowl with a cling wrap, and then let it chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Once chilled, transfer Mango Sago't Gulaman into small serving bowls or cups. Serve and enjoy!
