Not gonna lie, the heat is getting to our heads now. It’s starting to make us more uncomfortable and irritable. It has even put us in an off-mood to the point that we don’t feel like moving nor getting any work done.

Melon is another summer fruit and it is great to have any time of the day! This fruit is a favorite of ours as this is sweet, fleshy, and oh-so-refreshing! Other than making a juice or shake out of it, this one is perfect with sago’t gulaman hence our Melon Sago’t Gulaman for you today that is already an all-in-one drink, dessert, and snack! Truly, a delightful and splendid way to lift our spirits up again!

Making this samalamig favorite is easy-peasy. Basically, all we did was combine cooked tapioca pearls and jelly, fresh melon meat, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and cream in a container, and then had it chilled.

Ingredients:
Ingredients for Making the Gelatin/Gulaman:
 1 pack of orange gulaman powder
 4 cups water
 300 ml melon flavored condensed milk
Ingredients for the Melon Sago't Gulaman Mixture:
 2 melons
 300 ml melon flavored condensed milk
 2 ½ cups evaporated milk
 500 ml Nestle cream
 2 cups sago

Directions:

In a pot, add water, gelatin powder, and melon-flavored condensed milk. Stir continuously until it boils and everything dissolves completely.

Once it boils and everything is dissolved, remove from heat.

Pour gelatin mixture into a baking dish. Let it set.

Pour water into a pan and then add the sago pearls. Bring it to a boil or until sago pearls are cooked.

Note: Cooked sago pearls are translucent.

Once sago pear;s are cooked, drain them and then set aside.

Slice open the melons and remove its seeds.

Scrape off the melon meat. Set aside.

Slice the gulaman/gelatin mixture that was set aside earlier into small cubes.

Transfer gulaman cubes into a big bowl.

Add cooked sago pearls, shredded melon, all-purpose cream, melon-flavored condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Mix.

Cover it with a cling wrap and then let it chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Transfer Melon Sago't Gulaman to small bowls or glasses. Serve and enjoy!
