Last September 15, 2017, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the #MOACoffeeFest2017.
The program started with the Fujifilm Instax and crafts workshop and you’ll have the chance to get a free Instax photo courtesy of Fuji film at the Coffee Selfie Booth.
Several coffee lovers had joined the Fujifilm Instax and crafts workshop and there had been a lucky winner. (There’s an ongoing contest with the most creative IG post with hashtag #MOACoffeeFest2017 and you will get a chance to win a FujiFilm Instax camera. The winner will be announced on September 25. 😄)
Coffee and pastry stalls like Starbucks, J.Co, Seattle’s Best, Tous Les Jours, Kissako, Mihca Cafe, Illy Cafe, Papermoon, Epilogue, Care France, Kumori, Mrs. Field, BLK 513, Rita’s and Lizzy Latte (demonstrated a 3D Coffee Art) and Krispy Creme also joined the said event and had their own booth.
Highlights of the event:
HORIGUCHI Speciality Coffee Experience with Mr. Onozuka
Mr. Onozuka san is a HORIGUCHI Coffee Master, and together with his interpreter he shared the difference between specialty coffee and commodity coffee and he let the audience try his freshly brewed coffee from 5 different countries (Kenya, Guatemala, Indonesia, Brazil and the other one which I cannot remember.)
Feel free to visit Kissako Uji Matcha Cafe to experience more of Mr. Onozuka’s specialty and he also provides Coffee Workshops, for more details feel free to visit Kissako Unji Matcha Cafe’s page. 🙂
The Big Reveal: COFFEE ART with Lee Kang Bin
Lee Kang Bin is a South Korean barista who is pioneering “CreamArt” by drawing different designs on the steamed milk on top of every cup of coffee. He has a coffee shop locate in Seoul, Korea named “Cafe C. Through”. There, you can even request what you want to be drawn on your coffee.
His version of our very own Jeepney which is one of his famous work aside from “The Starry Night”.
He was challenged to create a big art using 50 cups of coffee.
The challenge was a success. He was interviewed together with his interpreter. He mentioned that he was able to finish the challenge in 4 hours and 30 minutes. He also mentioned that unlike the usual coffee art where pouring foam milk was used for the cream art, he uses food dye and spoon as his brush.
It was indeed a successful event! 🙂
