North Pasadena Wholesaling Co. More Than Just Satisfied Our Want and Need Of Rice!

One of the things Filipinos are known for when it comes to food is that they have an unwavering adoration for rice. We are not here to deny it; in fact, we are here to confirm it.

North Pasadena Rice

As Filipinos, we grew up having rice with every dish. Meal time is just incomplete without it, so to speak. Rice, for us, is the perfect side for anything and everything. Filipino viands, after all, are rich in flavor; often times they are savory, salty, and even sour, so rice is a great pairing to all those as it balances the sharpness of these flavors, if there are any. On top of that, rice keeps us full—it serves like a fuel for our body as we go through a day worth of work.

Since rice is a staple in our life, it is important that we don’t only get the best out of it, but also, we get the best of it—and that’s where North Pasadena Rice comes in. Catering to a variance of companies, including but not limited to restaurant groups, food service companies, eCommerce platforms, and major retailers, North Pasadena Wholesaling Co. is actually a rice importer and distributor of both local and imported rice products since the year 2014.

As that is the case, North Pasadena Wholesaling Co., as we have mentioned, has an array of rice products, and believe us when we say, they are all sulit, particularly their Golden Rabbit Thai Hom Mali Rice (5kg Php 650 | 10kg Php 1200 | 25kg Php 2600) and their Wonnapob Thai Jasmine Rice (5kg Php 425). Both are Jasmine Rice, which has no gluten and is one of the go-to rice variants of Filipinos.

If you are wondering what is the difference between the two, then let us explain it to you. Golden Rabbit Thai Hom Mali Rice is a Premium Jasmine Rice that is a long-grain rice and has a unique aroma. When uncooked, its grain is translucent, but once cooked,  its grain becomes opaque and white.

Meanwhile, Wonnapob Thai Jasmine Rice grows mainly in the central provinces of Thailand. Also known as Thai Fragrant Rice, its quality, natural aroma, taste, and tender texture are what makes it stand out in countries where rice is a staple food. Besides that, this one is vitamin-enriched as it has Vitamins B1 and B3, together with Iron.

We were excited to have both rice variants from North Pasadena Wholesaling Co. but of course, we can’t open them both at the same time, so we chose to open and try Wonnapob Thai Jasmine Rice first. We decided to pair this rice with a classic Filipino dish, the Sinigang since we also want to experience it with soup. Indeed, we got a sulit deal as it did not disappoint us when it came to its quality, natural aroma, taste, and texture. Each and every mouthful of it was great with the Sinigang we paired it with. Its grains did not even get soggy even with all the yummy soup with poured onto it. It remained firm and soft at the same time.
