We honestly don’t know what took us so long to release this recipe when we absolutely love eating this dish. Pork Chop Bistek is one of our favorites, a comfort food, really, so we are all just excited to finally share this with you!
If you are to search what the word “Bistek” actually means, you are to find that its origin is actually “Beef Steak”. Basically, Bistek or Bistec is a Spanish loan word that came from the words beef and steak, just abbreviated. What a neat trivia to know, right?

As that is the case, that is actually one of the reasons why we love homecooking — we can be versatile by swapping out one kind of ingredient with another. The classic Bistek recipe may be made with beef, but it’s not a crime to swipe out its main protein with another, especially when we have no beef in the fridge and what we only have is pork, particularly pork chops, which makes our Pork Chop Bistek actually more affordable since the price of beef here in Manila is undeniably higher than the price of pork. On top of that, we still get to indulge in the delicious flavors of Bistek that we certainly love.

Making Pork Chop Bistek is as straightforward as it could get. All you have to do is marinate the pork chops in a mixture of mainly soy sauce, garlic powder, lime, and ground black pepper. After that, you will then cook it until tender. Such an easy task that rewards you a luscious and flavorful dish like no other, right?

Truly, our Pork Chop Bistek recipe is a tasty dish, not only because of its marinade, but also because of the pork chops themselves. The pork chop cut—its proportion of fat, skin, and of course, meat, just adds up, if we say so ourselves. Don’t believe us? Why don’t you try following our Pork Chop Bistek recipe and see not only what we are talking about, but actually enjoy it for yourselves as well.
