Ready your tastebuds this 2020, because we won’t stop bringing you along our food adventures! If you think 2019 has served us a lot of yummy dishes, then you better think again as 2020 is a whole new year, and who knows what to expect, right?! One thing is for sure, though – you could expect more tasty surprises from us!
Speaking of tasty surprises, one of the restaurants we are giving you this year is something we actually have been to before – it’s Savor Park Café! Opened in 2012, Savor Park Café is obviously 2 years shy from satisfying cravings of people for Filipino food for 10 years. They are, afterall, dubbed as Makati’s best kept restaurant secret that is serving almost everyone’s best-loved Pinoy nomnoms.
This eight-year old restaurant has been housing lovely family celebrations, intimate date nights, and even fun catch up sessions with dear friends. People undeniably will find Savor Park Café easy to love as the place itself has this light and uplifting aura that is accentuated with touches of earthy tones.
That being said, let’s stop talking about the place and without shame, go dig into their food, shall we? In the hopes to not easily go full, let’s start with a few of their appetizers such as S! Cowboy Sisig (Php 289) which is a play on cow and baboy, done the traditional way of braising, grilling, and finally sautéing the beef and pork meats to achieve that much-loved sisig perfection! Other appetizers to watch for are their Shrimp and Pork Tortang Talong (Php 259) which is a serving of yummy minced pork and bits of shrimp mixed into eggplant omelette, and their Batchoy (Php 269) which is traditionally prepared as well as inspired from Iloilo – where else?
That Batchoy got us hooked with pork, so of course, more pork we go for! Their Boneless Krispy Pata (Php 539) is in fact all about lots of meat and crunch, making all the munching easier and a whole lot of fun; while their Humba (Meal Php 329 | Sharing Php 439) is a treat to the palate with all the mishmash of tastes as this one is salty, sweet, and earthy slow cooked pork belly!
Aside from pork, Savor Park Café of course has a lot more meaty dishes like beef and chicken ones. Their Savor Kare-Kare (Php 539) is made tediously, with no shortcuts, and uses only toasted peanuts as well as ground rice for the sauce; while their Roasted Cocomilk Chicken (Meal Php 319 | Sharing Php 439) is of spring chicken braised and later, roasted in cocomilk and chilies for flavor and tenderness.
As we are looking for some carbs to go with all these savories, their Pancit Palabok which is a hefty plate of glass noodles alongside tasty sauce topped with crushed homemade chicharon, as well as their S! Favorite Smoked Sardine Efuven (Php 319) which is of a specialty rice noodle form the Visayas, called efuven, plus smoked sardines cooked in olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, and topped with flaked bangus bits.
Lastly, to end our food adventure with Savor Park Café not only on a savory note, but on a sweet note, too, their S! Savor Maruya (Php 199) is the perf way as this one is an upscale version of an old Filipino favorite. Battered plantains with shreds of sweetened langka, deep fried and topped with vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche and chocolate sauce.
And in the talks of sweets and good times, Savor Park Café has a Coffee and Cake Promo which includes Savor-Blend Coffee alongside a choice of some of their pastries like Chocolate Torte, Dulce de Leche, Apple Tart, Mango Trifle, Turtle Cake, or any Cake of the Week for only Php 195!
