Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu sa Miso Recipe

This refreshing soup dish may be dubbed as an acquired taste by some because of its trademark sour tones, but it sure is still a top tier Filipino food, nonetheless. In fact, Sinigang is very much well-loved by many to the point that it does not even matter whether the weather is hot or cold—a lot would still go sipping, slurping, and enjoying every bit of this warm, delectable viand.

Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu sa Miso

Having noticed that most of our Sinigang recipes are of meat, we have decided to add another Sinigang dish with fish as its main ingredient. Lapu-Lapu or Grouper fish is known to be a choice of healthy eaters as this fish is nutritious. However, the price of this fish here in the Metro is no joke because of its texture and taste. That said, having Lapu-Lapu on the table can mean that it’s a special day or something worth celebrating is happening.

Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu sa Miso

Hence, between our busy schedules and daily wins, we thought we deserve to have Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu sa Miso—and we are not wrong about that! This dish is a classic Filipino dish often served as a main and is actually a leveled up version of the OG Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu. The only difference of Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu sa Miso is that it has miso in it, giving that trademark sour sinigang flavor a salty umami twist!

Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu sa Miso

As that is the case, if you want to delight in that refreshing and sumptuous blend of sour, salty umami, and sweet tones, then you better have your kitchen ready, because we have listed below all the things you are going to need to make this spectacular dish! Ingredients:
 1 kg Lapu-Lapu
 4 green chilis
 5 tomatoes
 2 white onions
 8 okra
 1 bundle of string beans
  miso
 7 garlic cloves
 sinigang mix
 2 eggplants
 9 mustard greens or mustrad leaves (mustasa)
 20 g radish
 10 g ginger
 2 tbsp fish sauce
 ¼ tsp ground black pepper
 1 tbsp salt

Directions:

Slice garlic, white onion, ginger, eggplant, okra, tomatoes, radish, string beans, mustard greens, and Lapu-Lapu. Set them aside.

Saute ginger, garlic, onion, and tomatoes.

Add miso. Mix.

Add ground black pepper and fish sauce. Mix.

Add water. Let it simmer for a bit.

Add salt and radish. Mix and then let it simmer for a while again.

Add sting beans, okra, eggplant, and green chilis.

Add tamarind mix. Mix and let it simmer again.

Add lapu-lapu and mustasa. Simmer until ready.

Once ready, transfer to a serving dish. Serve and enjoy!
