The Spectrum Buffet Experience.

It was our year-end Lunch Party sponsored by the company.  One of my colleagues suggested that we should all try the Spectrum Buffet.  Because everyone was intrigued not only by the classy name but also of the good food that it offers, we decided to give it a try.

Situated right in the middle of the bustling city of Makati, Spectrum  is an eat-all-you-can hotel buffet destination at the lobby level of the Fairmont portion of twin hotels Raffles and Fairmont Makati.

The venue highlights the sophisticated and modern dining space, unique drop lights, comfy cushioned seats – the perfect place for a laid-back afternoon spent with dear colleagues and big bosses.

After we were all comfortably seated, I decided to take a tour of the place.  I have been to many buffets like Dads, Buffet 101, Vikings to name a few and I really can’t help but to compare.  I must say that by looking at the selections, they look delectable and palatable but I’m a little bit disappointed that they have a fewer offerings.

I started with their Bread Station along with the cheese offerings on the other side.

Then, I went to the Dimsum section, since I was in the mood for something Chinese.

But then my attention got shifted to the enormous Roast Beef winking at me.

It was so appetizing to look at.  The juiciness and tenderness of the meat looks so inviting. But I realized I wasn’t done with my tour yet so I decided to walk away and move on with my tour.

And so my next stop was the Sushi Section.

I have always been a fan of Sushi and to see those options and variety right in front of me was a fascinating experience.

But wait, I wasn’t done with my tour yet.  And it definitely wouldn’t be complete without checking the most important section of all.  The Desserts section, needless to say, I have a sweet tooth and a knack for consuming more desserts than the main course.

I couldn’t contain my excitement since they have a wide variety of desserts to choose from.  And much to my delight, they even have a great selection of Gelato.

And with the different images of desserts still lingering, I decided to grab a plate and start my lunch.  I decided that in order for me to be able to try what I like and not to feel full immediately, it will be no rice for me.

After trying almost everything, I must say that the food was great.  It wasn’t anything bland but rather flavorful.  Even the salad that I tried was a treat.

With a satisfied mood and hunger for  the next big thing on my list, I grabbed the first few desserts that won’t pack that much calories, hoping to go for a second and third round.

But to my dismay, I did felt so full, so I had to grab a cup of coffee.  Sip an enormous amount to help speed up my metabolism, so I can pack some more.

After a couple minutes, I decided to go with my second round.  I was already on the verge of surrendering as my stomach cannot handle anything more when my colleague offered for us to share so I can finish it.  With our year-end lunch party coming to an end, I couldn’t help but to smile and appreciate the great food  and company that I had.  As well as the good memories, that we have shared over the past year.

But going back to the Buffet Spectrum, will I be recommending this buffet to my friends as well as will I be going back here?  I would say – Yes.  Because not only did I enjoy the food, but I also enjoyed the pleasant environment and the warm and accommodating  service crews that attended to my every need.
