Summer is here and we are definitely feeling like we are melting! Well, that is an exaggeration, for sure, but we are not kidding about the heat. Days are getting hotter and it is making us not want to move so much so as to not perspire that much as well. But of course, we are not going to let that heat beat us because we found a cool snack that sure is delicious and enjoyable!

As we have said, we are not going to let the heat get the better of us so here we are with our Ube Jelly Salad Recipe to help you cool down as well. Ube Jelly Salad is a popular food here in the Philippines! With its main ingredient being purple yam which is also known as ube, it is actually not surprising that this dessert can easily have people falling in love with it.

A lot are delighted by this not only because it is an ube-based dessert, but also because this one is no doubt creamy and milky too. In fact, you can also make this cheesy as well – because that’s how we did ours! Indeed, Ube Jelly Salad is something that can be called a perfect summer goodie as it can freshen you up in every spoonful.

Other than that, Ube Jelly Salad is easy to make and budget-friendly as well so you need not to worry about whether or not will it burn a hole in your pocket. Made primarily with gelatin, sago, cheese, ube, and milk, Ube Jelly is absolutely a must-try if you have not had it ever. Believe us, you are totally missing out on a good thing if you haven’t got a taste of this!

With all that said, it is time for you to try your hand at our Ube Jelly Salad Recipe! Don’t worry, there is no need for any fancy equipment to make this. Plus, this Ube Jelly Salad is great as a dessert and even as a snack when you are feeling extra hot on a summer day!

Ingredients:
 1 white gulaman powder
 ¼ cup white sugar
 4 cups water
 1 ½ tsp ube flavoring
 250 ml all purpose cream
 300 ml ube condensed milk
 ¼ cup sago
 100 g cheese cube

Directions:

In a pot, add water, sugar, gelatin powder, and ube flavoring. Stir well until everything dissolves.

Once everything completely dissolves, remove mixture from heat.

Then pour gelatin mixture in a baking dish. Put it aside and let it set.

Start cooking sago pearls by bringing it to a boil until they are translucent.

Then strain and pour cold water onto them to stop the sago pearls from further cooking. Put the sago pearls in a bowl and then set them aside.

Slice cheese into cubes. Set aside.

Slice ube gelatin into cubes as well. Set aside.

In a huge bowl, add all purpose cream and ube flavored condensed milk. Mix together.

Then add cooked sago pearls and ube gelatin cubes. Mix again.

Add cheese and then mix them altogether again.

Cover the bowl with a food wrap or cling film and let it chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

After chilling, put Ube Jelly Salad in a bowl or a glass and serve. You can also add more cheese if you like. Enjoy!
