We Have A New Favorite Dessert Place and it’s at M Bakery in BGC

Who here loves sweets?

M Bakery, known as Magnolia Bakery in New York, is opening its first branch in the Philippines on August 22, 2018. It is going to be in One Bonifacio High Street in BGC. Being lovers of cheesecakes and cupcakes, we truly got excited with this news. To be honest, we haven’t tried Magnolia Bakery before. We just know that it’s being praised internationally for its cupcakes and banana pudding.

We were lucky to attend M Bakery’s media day a week ago to have a sneak peek on what to expect on its opening day. The event started by introducing the team behind M Bakery in Manila. The media preview is graced by M Bakery Manila franchisees Stewart Ong and Candy Lu. Chef Joely Anderson, Magnolia Bakery Chicago’s Production Manager, is also present.

“We’re excited to finally be offering the same wide variety of classic American desserts featured at the brand’s NYC shops,” says Stewart Ong, Managing Partner of Phil Jacobe Ventures, Inc., M Bakery Franchisee.  “The freshly baked goods you will find at M Bakery will be perfect for breakfast, for a mid-day snack, and to end your meal.”

The first part of the event was dedicated to a series of demonstration by Chef Joely. She showed us how to design cakes and cupcakes. It was impressive and it set the vibe and excitement to try everything in the shop.

Now let’s go to the food! We’ll start with their best-selling Banana Pudding. Their version is made with layers of vanilla wafers, fresh bananas and creamy vanilla pudding. Our verdict? It’s definitely worth the hype. It’s so good! We almost finished one pint! No regrets though.

We also got to try their Red Velvet Cupcake and Blueberry Jamboree. Both were delicious as well! The latter is made with layers of whipped cream and cream cheese and topped with blueberries. Honestly, their cheesecakes were heavenly too! Everything was moist and filling, and it’s velvety smooth!

But if there’s one thing that we truly loved aside from the banana pudding, it would be their Double Fudge Brownie. Hands down, the best brownie we’ve tasted in our foodie journey.

We’re so happy with everything we tried in M Bakery. It’s a paradise for sweet lovers. As what Pastry Chef Candy Lu puts it, M Bakery is more than just a bakery. It’s an experience.
