You better have a huge appetite when you visit BuenApetito Restaurante

Let us share with you a secret we have found out just recently. Did you know there is actually a majestic wellness resort currently in the works somewhere in Laguna? We are not kidding. This is not a drill. We have been there and it’s not done yet but the place is already breathtaking as it is. Las Caidas Wellness Resort sure is a promising destination for our tired souls and bones. Surrounded by different trees, plants, and flowers, plus near a natural body of water, this place is nothing short of a paradise—and it is not even 100% complete yet. Indeed, we cannot wait for Las Caidas Wellness Resort to be completely operational, but like us, you could definitely check the place out as well, especially because their restaurant is actually open and serving already.

Speaking of the food, BuenApetito Restaurante by Las Caidas Wellness Resort puts the spotlight on regional Filipino delicacies so if you really want to pamper your palate to a feast of luscious Filipino flavors, then this place is perfect for you! You can start with their Crujiente Sizzling Sisig (Php 350). This dish is their take on the traditional Filipino dish, Pork Sisig. Made with grilled crispy pork mask and belly, mixed with fresh onions, finger chilis, and Las Caidas special Sisig sauce, and then topped with egg, you surely will reach for more rice.

While we are talking about reaching more rice, their entrees will absolutely have you doing that as well. Their Bulalo (Php 500) which is their version of the classic bulalo in flavorful coconut soup with corn, leeks, and bok choy; their Crispy Bagnet Kare-Kare (Php 480) which is a generous serving of crispy bagnet, string beans, aubergines, bok choy, and banana blossoms all nestled on a sumptuous bed of classic savory peanut sauce; and their Chicken Binakol (Php 300) which is a classic Visayan dish that is all about sautéed and slow-cooked chicken in flavorful coconut soup with fresh ginger, lemon grass, and papaya, all served in a coconut bowl, are all downright delicious so you better have space for more than just one of them.

We have mentioned earlier that they want more regional Filipino dishes to be highlighted as much as the ones we already know so give your hands for their Tuna Panga Inasal with Kulawo (Php 450) which Bacolod’s tasty twist on grilled tuna panga, served with their San Pablo’s signature kulawo, grilled eggplant or banana blossoms with smoky flavorful coconut cream, as well as their Sulu Chicken Inasal with Pyanggang Sauce (Php 320) which is a fusion of chargrilled Tausug and Bacolod chicken in spiced and smoky coconut cream sauce, then served with broiled mixed vegetables. If we didn’t know the chef made this in the kitchen, we would think these two were heaven sent! We are not kidding, we cannot stop thinking about these two ever since we got to enjoy them.

We keep on saying that all these will have you keep on reaching for rice, but do know that their rice dishes themselves can also be the reason why you will be going for more rounds than you intended to. Aside from the classic steamed white rice, BuenApetito Restaurante by Las Caidas Wellness Resort also have Crab Rice and Binagoongan Rice which are two rice dishes that you can actually delight in on your own because they are like a kanin plus ulam combo already; but then of course, pairing them with most, if not all, of the savories we have shared above is a scrumptious experience on a whole different level.

Banana Foster
Las Caidas Halo-Halo

Of course, after having these many dishes, you would want something sweet to cut through all that savory notes you have enjoyed. For their desserts, we suggest you have their Banana Foster (Php 120) which is a plate of sweet plantains in delectable sweet sauce with rhum and vanilla ice cream, as well as their Las Caidas Halo-Halo (Php 180) which is a hearty serving of a revitalizing classic Halo-Halo in an adorable coconut bowl.
