Summer came early for us or better yet, we came early for summer! We just could not sit in our homes with the heat slowly making us lose our cool, so of course, we did not think twice and squeeze in a break. We needed to enjoy the heat and also cool down so the beach is the perfect place for us.

That being said, since we can’t really go that far, we decided to drive to Laiya, San Juan, Batangas where Virgin Beach Resort is located. Virgin Beach Resort is exactly what our minds, bodies, and souls have been craving for. Its tranquil and natural setting gave us the peace and quiet that we needed. As much as we do enjoy the rush and adrenaline of busy days, there are also times that we just want to be away from the crowd—and Virgin Beach Resort gave us exactly that. 

Their beautiful landscape, clear blue waters, and rustic casitas all lined up facing the beach was such a picturesque setting that honestly took our breaths away. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the staff with warmth and refreshments. The welcome drink was a lovely respite from the kind-of-long drive that we just had, then we were also assisted for our check in. 

As our things were sashayed away to our respective accommodations, we just could not help ourselves as we let our eyes delight in our surroundings. The stretch of creamy white sand beach that was being met by rolling and crashing waves was definitely inviting us, but of course, we first took some time to ourselves as we recuperated in our rooms. 

Virgin Beach Resort provided us two of their beautiful Bamboo Casitas. It was like we have been transported to simpler days with more than just a touch of comfort and convenience. Inspired by traditional Filipino architecture, our Bamboo Casitas were built with bamboo and made cozy with wide floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, elevated patio with sofa, in-room safe, complimentary tea and coffee, power outlets, air-conditioning, storage space, private comfort room, and of course, comfy beds. 

Truly, our Bamboo Casitas served as our own homes for three days where we got to catch up on some reading, do a little bit of light work on the side, relax, rest, and just generally have time for ourselves. Plus, the view from our Bamboo Casitas was one to fall in love with too!

After giving ourselves some time and napping, we realized it was actually night time already which is not a problem since that means it was dinner time too! Staying at Virgin Beach Resort includes full board meals already, so we then head onto The Pavilion as there is where they set up the dinner buffet for their guests.

For the dinner buffet on our first day at Virgin Beach Resort, we noticed that they put the spotlight on international cuisine, specifically Korean, Mediterranean, and a few more. This we were able to say since the buffet was beaming with hearty and delicious meals such as Garden Salad and Talinum Salad for starters, and which can be made more delicious with Nouc Cham Dressing, Caesar Dressing, Sweet Vinegar, and Roasted Sesame. 

A number of mains were also served like Pan-fried Fish Fillet with Light Curry Sauce, Chicken Tandoori Satay, Char Siu, Beef Masala, and Yasai Itame with Fried Tofu, which we decided to pair with a number of their sides such as Crab and Corn Soup, Steamed Rice, Basmati Rice, and Japchae. These were absolutely savory and filling!

As we were about to hit the sack again and get ready for tomorrow after having dinner, we decided to end our night with delectable desserts and drinks which were also included on the dinner buffet. That said, we made sure to snatch a number of their Assorted Pastries, Fresh Fruits, Orange Lemonade, and of course, Infused Water to help us down all that we have eaten.
