Home to old and new popular restaurants, UP Town Center has been slowly but surely building the place as a foodie hub. Strolling along the mall will give you more than enough number of great restaurants. One of which is Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen.
Named after Marilou or is now known as Mama Lou who unfortunately died and didn’t get to see how their restaurant has been growing. From the main branch and now on to their fourth branch at Evia. Awarded as well as the best restaurant for year 2016 by the Philippine Tatler.
The restaurant boast of Italian cuisine as visible on its interiors. From the brick wall to the homey and cozy furniture with pictures hanging on the wall.
Upon seating and while waiting for your order a complimentary House Bread with pesto and pomodoro sauce will be given.
Mama Lou’s Special Pizza – standing true to its name that it should indeed be called their pizza because of its crunchy crust and flavorful taste.
Pizza Bianca – loaded with cheese, mushroom and bacon, this pizza is a must try for everyone.
Mozzarella Cheese Sticks – really reasonable for being one of their best selling appetizer.
Escargot – this Seafood dish came out as a surprise as you won’t expect it will be that good on first glance.
Truffle Mac and Cheese – can’t deny the fact that what makes this dish interesting is the addition of truffle on the well-loved mac and cheese.
Seafood Oglio – Mama Lou’s surely doesn’t scrimped on ingredients with the generous amount of seafood on this dish, your cravings will definitely be satisfied.
Rollo De Pollo – this dish is a perfect match for your glass of wine.
Spaghetti Meat Balls – their take on the famous Spaghetti Meat Balls served with the meatiest and tastiest meatballs we have ever tried.
Pan Seared Salmon – the lemon sauce that came with this dish is what levels up the experience. We all know how good a salmon is when the lemon juice is squeezed in to its meat part.
Vesuvio Pasta – made from Rigatoni pasta, this is one of Mama Lou’s popular dish for the sole reason that it really tastes amazingly good.
We also got the chance to try their Mama Lou’s Mint Iced Tea, which is quite a refreshing drink that we all enjoyed.
Salpicao – This dish for me stands tall among all the other versions that we have tried. With the right amount of saltiness and garlic, this really made quite an impression. If we ever go back to Mama Lou’s I would definitely make sure to order this again.
Blueberry Cheesecake – who doesn’t love cheesecake? Mama Lou’s has gave us more reasons to come back as we took a bite on this very scrumptious cheesecake.
Chocolate Cake – not too sweet and with just the right fluffiness on every bite.
Mama Lou’s surely know how to serve Italian dishes that Filipinos would definitely love and with the very warm and great service that they provide, no wonder they are packed even if it’s in the middle of the afternoon. Their customer service is really commendable and something that they really should be proud of.
