Of Families on Eat Outs: Mi Cafe Padres is certainly a wonderful catch up place

Let’s talk about feeling at home regardless of not being at home. Back when we were younger, we thought home was where we live, where we “go back home to”, but life happens, and we get to see so much than what our “home” could let us see, and that’s when we get to see a lot of perspective other than the one we grew up in; and that’s when we realize how home is not a place – well, it can be for some, but it also is not for others. Home is a feeling, it is when we feel at ease, when we are at peace and by that we (and kung fu panda) mean inner peace, and that is how we felt at Mi Café Padres.

Mi Café Padres is a well-known dining place at San Pablo, Laguna – where we stayed for a night – and well, spoiler alert: We had a downright delicious time. They actually started with just a carwash when Bryan, the owner, thought of providing their customers the option to chill while having their cars washed, obviously, and boy, Bryan did not expect that his café would be a spot people will be going to even though they don’t really have cars to get washed.

With that, of course, we are not going to not check out a dining concept that is making such a razzle dazzle, and so we started with a brick-oven pizza of theirs that has taken our breaths with even with just the first bite still – the Adobo de Surigao Pizza (Php 200). This one is of Mi Café Padres’ special red sauce mozzarella, adobo de surigao chunks topped with Senior Pablador’s Fern Salad aka Paco Salad with salted egg and cheese! All their pizzas have paco salad, by the way, because that is their trademark.

From there, we found out that they were also serving all day Filipino breakfast options, and you kow us, we love a breakfast meal. Their Pork Tapa (Php 140) is plate of all time Filipino favorite pork tapa, prime cut, high grade pork meat, fried egg served with garlic rice that sure got our brekky cravings satisfied.

Bistek Tagalog (Php 150)

From a rice meal, we jumped to another that is a Main Entrée of theirs – the Bistek Tagalog (Php 150). This one is a serving of high grade beef that is oozing with the all time favorite Filipino classic taste of unique tanginess and saltiness, topped with farm fresh onion rings, alongside aromatic pandan rice.

After having those, we just could not help ourselves, but to get more taste of Mi Café Padres’ flavors, so we opted to dig into their offerings of Entrée that is all good for 3 to 4 people. Their Binagoongang Baboy (Php 230) sure was a tease and is a delectable sinful dish we would be glad to have again, as well as the Beef Kare-Kare (Php 390) which sure gave us more comfort and warmth as this one is absolutely easy to love, too!

There you have it! If you have not dined with Mi Café Padres, then you certainly got first dibs with us as they actually just launched this full-blown restaurant of theirs three months ago.
